After building buzz and gaining traction as an artist-to-watch in 2025, Los Angeles-based indie pop duo The Two Lips (f/k/a The Tulips) share a brand new single entitled “talk” out now. It notably marks their official debut for Island Records and sets the stage for an exciting year ahead.
Listen HERE.
Produced by Jackson Shanks and Oscar Santander, the track revolves around a gentle head-nodding beat laced with ethereal synth transmissions and loose guitar. Lyrically, the pair grapple with a fractured relationship, reaching out to hold on to what’s left. It culminates in a chantable chorus as they urge, “If you’d just talk to me, it could fix everything.”
About the single, The Two Lips—Andrea and Jewlz—commented, "”talk’ is about that moment when that one person is just not communicating with you how they feel, and how so many problems would be fixed if you just talked to each other. Whether it’s a partner, best friend, or your family, we all could use a little reminding that communication is key."
Next up, The Two Lips will grace the stage of one of the West Coast’s most iconic venues, The Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA, on June 29 to a sold-out crowd, prompting the addition of a second sold-out show at El Rey Theater on August 1. A regional tour throughout California and Arizona has also been announced (dates below). Additionally, the duo is set to support Sabrina Carpenter on her two-night stand at BST Hyde Park in London, UK on July 5-6, followed by a headline show at The Grace in London on July 8. Tickets are available HERE.
“talk” lands in the wake of their 2024 viral fan favorite “still love you (todavía).” This breakout anthem has surged, garnering over 20 million Spotify streams and hit Top Ten on the Spotify Viral Chart.
The group continues to earn acclaim as well. They sat down with Paco’s Place for an exclusive interview, while The Luna Collective applauded how, “Created with an intimate, DIY approach, their songs capture the raw, emotional highs and lows of womanhood, offering an authentic glimpse into their world.” Alicia's Studio professed, “As they continue to grow, [The Two Lips] are poised to make a lasting impact, and their story is one of resilience, passion, and the power of community.”
ABOUT THE TWO LIPS:
As if materializing out of the ether and right before our eyes, The Two Lips sound like a dream projected in widescreen. Hailing from the suburbs of Cerritos, CA, longtime friends and collaborators Andrea and Jewlz, who recently wrapped up their final year as a kindergarten teacher and a server, respectively, craft evocative and immersive bedroom pop, rich with raw emotion and boundless creativity. Back in 2023, they unassumingly started to make music for fun, processing heavy feelings and pondering what it means to be a woman on tape. At the same time, the musicians also nodded to their respective backgrounds (both girls share Mexican heritage, and Jewlz is also Filipina). Beyond headlining shows on both sides of the Atlantic and playing with the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, The Two Lips kick off their next chapter with the 2025 single “talk” and much more to come.
